Grand Hotel Francais is more than just a hotel - it is our home away from home when we are in Paris. We know that walking through the door is the start of many wonderful days in our favorite city. It's the signal to put our busy work lives away and begin enjoying time together. I've seen in previous reviews that people mention Grand Hotel Francais isn't in the middle of the tourist arrondissements - and that is one reason we love being here. We want to be part of the "everyday" Paris experience, and staying at Grand Hotel Francais gives us that opportunity. You couldn't ask for a friendlier, more accommodating neighborhood than this section of Blvd. Voltaire. We've genuinely enjoyed getting to know the owners of the family-owned shops and bistros in the area, and couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome. Both the Nation and Rue des Boulets metro stations are within a 5-10 minute walk - a little longer if you stop for a cafe creme and pastry! As others have said, our room is always spotlessly clean, quiet, and has the most comfortable bed. But, that is not the most important reason we recommend Grand Hotel Francais so highly. It is because of the people who work so hard to provide an excellent experience. Monsieur Zyad Si Hocine and Vanessa, along with the rest of the outstanding staff, offer such a hospitable atmosphere that Grand Hotel Francais is our first - and only - choice when we come to Paris. It truly is an oasis of rest and relaxation for us, and we can't wait to return again. See you soon, Zyad and Vanessa! Sara and Rob Ahten
The staff at Hotel Francais were warm, accomadating, and very helpful. I've never received better customer service! I took my mother for her 60th birthday, as well as my 65 year-old father and my boyfriend. Each of us agreed that Paris seemed warm and friendly because of our choice of hotel. The people at the front desk speak excellent English, and the hotel is situated near all major metro lines.
Beautiful room and extremely friendly and helpful staff The recommendations for restaurants nearby were amazing, best meal we had in Paris. The room was really comfortable and quiet and the breakfast was great too. I can highly recommend.
The staff was thoughtful, kind and knowledgeable. The rooms were wonderful; clean and updated. A great stay
I absolutely loved this hotel and have nothing negative to say about it. The staff is helpful and friendly. You are greeted with free wine, water and Perrier. I had a small refrigerator in my room. The room was very clean, beds were comfortable, room was pretty. The location was perfect. I was very happy and will definitely return. It helped to make my trip to Paris a wonderful experience.
I had a larger room, the executive level, I think. It was wonderful. In fact, everything was terrific. The front desk staff were great. Can't say anything but good things about this hotel. Location was great too, one metro stop half a block away and a major station, (Place de la Nation) two blocks away). Plenty of restaurants, pasteries, boulangeries, etc., nearby, too.
My recent stay at the Grand Hotel Francais was very enjoyable. The room and hotel was very clean. The complimentary breakfast was excellent with many food items to choose from. The people at the desk were very friendly and helpful and glad to answer any questions posed to them. The location is near the Metro which is very convenient for traveling to various sites in Paris. I would definitely stay there again.
We enjoyed ou stay and thought it was a good value. Staff friendly and helpful.
Nice clean room exactly as described on website. Friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant that was recommended by your staff on our first night in Paris was very good. Overall very happy with the hotel and thought it was good value for money.
The room was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful.
Nicest customer service ever
I booked a room at the Grand Hotel Francais for the final days of my vacation with my girlfriend. We were exhausted and sweaty after a 5 hour train ride, but the young lady at the front desk, Vanessa, was a breath of fresh air! She was friendly and charming and even upgraded our room to a queen as there happened to be one available. It came with a complimentary half litre of chilled rose wine! The air-conditioned room had three sets of windows and the most comfortable bed I had slept in for our entire trip. Even the shower and the soap were great. EVERYONE who we met who worked behind the front desk were super friendly and extra helpful. I would recommend this place without hesitation!! And I would definitely stay there again.
This time is the second stay. The hotel staff was kind with smile. The guest room was cleaned finely. The service which washes my clothing for nothing is wonderful. However, I regretted the thing with outdated TV of a guest room. I think that there should be LCD screen TVs (with international channels English, CNN, BBC) in a hotel. I would like to stay next time.
This was a warm and welcoming place and we really loved the fact that we were able to experience a real neighborhood!
